Registrations for All Categories must be made between
01/08/2023 - 15/09/2023


  • The video’s for all rounds trophée Mondial Categories must be submitted by 1st of October 2023

  • Trophée Mondial Candidates may enter One Classique & One Varieté Category as well as Chamber Music & World Music
    They may also enter one or all of the NEW Composition categories.

    They MAY NOT ALSO ENTER any category in the International Open Trophy.

    Past 1st Place Prizewinners may NOT enter the SAME category again.


    Each program must be recorded in one continuous video:
    NO video interruption between the different works
    except for the World Music & Jazz categories


    No audio or video editing is accepted under penalty of disqualification (except sound effects mentioned on the Video Format rules).
    The videos of the candidates must imperatively be recorded specifically for the Trophée Mondial 2023, and in no case be published under any platform whatsoever (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram…), before the end of the Competition.
    Each video will be checked upon receipt. The CMA Executive reserves the right to refuse any video that does not meet the criteria defined above.

    International Jury

    The International Jury is composed of the best international teachers, composers and performers. For the sake of fairness, honesty and objectivity, it is important to note that in the Trophée Mondial, each category is judged by a minimum of 15 jury members and the two lowest and highest marks are deleted for each candidate. The members of the international jury are not allowed to judge their own students (with whom they have had a teaching relationship within the last 2 years or of 2 years consecutive in the past), nor the candidates representing the same country, and absolutely not the right to communicate with each other about the candidates during the duration of the Trophée Mondial. The marks of each member of the jury are published on the Official Website of the Confédération Mondiale after the declaration of the results.

    No registration can be validated if the payment is not made on paypal, and if the photograph of the candidates is not sent as indicated on the registration form (No close up pictures- ie passport pictures).
    Please respect the deadlines, as well as the specific details for the recording of the videos (Videos uploaded on Youtube in link "Unlisted ", insertion of the poster in" Thumbnail ", etc). All of these details are explained in several languages on the video page. Do not hesitate to contact the national delegates or members of the CMA Executive in case of doubt.

    Senior Classique

    Maximum Age: 35 years in the year of the Competition (born 1987 or later)


    1st Round: The candidates must perform in the order of their choice:

    A Baroque work of their choice.

    A Melodic work of their choice.

    A Virtuosic work of their choice.

    Notes:

    At least one piece / melodic or virtuosic must be written originally for accordion. Duration of program: 20 mins maximum. Each of the 3 pieces will be marked individually by each member of the jury. The order of interpretation of the 3 pieces in the programme is the choice of the candidate. Examples of “Melodic” pieces: Romance by Franck Angelis, Kalina Krasnaya by Viatcheslav Semionov, Barcarolle by Rachmaninov, etc... Examples of “Virtuosic” pieces: SOS Caprice by Viatcheslav Semionov, Boite à Rythme by Franck Angelis, La Danse des Gnomes by Franz Liszt, etc...


    2nd Round: Each candidate must interpret one COMPLETE ORIGINAL WORK for accordion.
    Duration: Between 15 and 30 minutes.

    Notes:

    Indicative timing / no penalties will be imposed.


    3rd Round: Free Programme - which must contain at least one ORIGINAL PIECE for the accordion.
    Duration: 20 mins minimum / 30 mins maximum

    Junior Classique

    Maximum Age: 18 years in the year of the Competition (born 2004 or later)


    1st Round: The candidates must perform in the order of their choice:

    A Baroque work of their choice.

    A Melodic work of their choice.

    A Virtuosic work of their choice.

    One Round ONLY: Free Programme - which must contain at least one BAROQUE WORK and one ORIGINAL PIECE for the accordion.

    Duration: 15 mins minimum / 20 mins maximum.

    Senior Variete

    Maximum Age: 35 years in the year of the Competition (born 1987 or later)


    1st Round: Free Program - which must consist of A MAXIMUM of 2 PIECES of different styles and character.

    Duration: 7 mins maximum.


    2nd Round: Free Program - which must consist of at least 2 pieces of different styles and Character.


    Duration: 9 mins maximum.


    Notes:

    In this Category the CMA Executive Committee will decide the number of candidates admitted to the second round.

    Junior Variete

    Maximum Age: 18 years in the year of the Competition (born 2004 or later)


    One Round ONLY: Free Program - which must consist of at least 2 pieces of different styles and Character.

    Duration: 12 mins maximum.

    World Music

    The aim of this Category is to present a musical concept.


    The category is open to entries from Soloists or Ensembles (maximum number of Players is 6). At least one instrument with bellows must be included which can be Accoustic, Digital, Electronic - Diatonic or Chromatic.


    One Round ONLY: Free Program.

    Duration: 15 mins maximum.

    NEW CATEGORIE 2023

    JAZZ

    No age limit

    One Round ONLY: Free Program.

    Duration: from 10 minutes Min to 15 minutes Max which must contain the following:

  • 1 Jazz Standard of your choice from the “Real Book”
  • 1 Piece free program
  • Notes:

    The candidate may play solo or in a group for part or all of his program.
    Any bellows instrument may be used (Chromatic , Diatonic, Electronic Accordion, Bandoneon, etc).
    The use of Accordina or melodica (or any other instrument of the genre) can also be used but for only part of the program not all.
    Unlike other CMA Categories, videos can be recorded at different times – Breaks are allowed.

    Junior Chamber Music

    Maximum Age: 18 years in the year of the Competition (all members born 2004 or later)


    The category is open to Accordion Ensembles and Chamber Ensembles including at least one accordion (maximum number of Players is 6).


    One Round ONLY: Free Programme consisting of pieces of different style, mainly original for the formation of the ensemble excluding Entertainment Music.

    Duration: 15 mins / 20 mins maximum.


    Registration fees: 50€


    Senior Chamber Music

    Maximum Age: No age limit.


    The category is open to Accordion Ensembles and Chamber Ensembles including at least one accordion (maximum number of Players is 6).


    One Round ONLY: Free Programme consisting of pieces of different style, mainly original for the formation of the ensemble if possible excluding Entertainment Music.

    Duration: 20 mins / 25 mins maximum.


    Registration fees: 50€


    International Composition Contest


    The composition submitted by the composer must be submitted without his/her name on the score (it is important that the name of the composer does not appear also on the video). The video must be sent to the General Secretary Anna BODELL for uploading onto youtube – this is to preserve the anonymity of the composer.

    The purpose of this category is to encourage composers to create Classique and Variete repertoire.


    Each Composition must be submitted beforehand in Audio and Score format (manuscript or digital) by email to Anna BODELL before 1st October 2023.


    A pre-selection will be made by Audio only, communicated to the jury of the Trophée Mondial in an "anonymous" way - One more time without mentioning the name of the composer. The works selected by the international jury will be presented by video (youtube link) at the Trophée Mondial Online of september.

    International Composition Contest “Yaroslav Oleksiv”
    (Solo, Chamber Music, Ensemble, ... No restriction)


    Each candidate must play a work by UKRAINIAN composer Yaroslav Oleksiv. The jury will be composed of a President of the Jury - Yaroslav Oleksiv in person (marks coefficients 2) and members of the jury chosen by the composer himself.

    Prize for the winner of the 1st International Contest "Yaroslav Oleksiv":

    Yaroslav Oleksiv will compose a piece dedicated to the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the Composer and the winning Artist of the category will be organized before the composition of the work, so that the composer becomes imbued with the personality of the Artist. A period of exclusivity of the work of 10 months will be reserved for the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the composer and the winner of the category will also be organized after the composition of the work in order to allow the artist to achieve the best possible interpretation, and to record the piece in the best conditions.

    The recording of Yaroslav Oleksiv's piece by the winner of the category will be broadcast widely on all social networks during the year following the competition, in order to ensure the best possible promotion of the work and the artist.

    International Composition Contest “Gorka Hermosa”
    (Solo, Chamber Music, Ensemble, ... No restriction)


    Each candidate must play a work by SPANISH composer Gorka Hermosa. The jury will be composed of a President of the Jury - Gorka Hermosa in person (marks coefficients 2) and members of the jury chosen by the composer himself.

    Prize for the winner of the 1st International Contest "Gorka Hermosa":

    Gorka Hermosa will compose a piece dedicated to the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the Composer and the winning Artist of the category will be organized before the composition of the work, so that the composer becomes imbued with the personality of the Artist. A period of exclusivity of the work of 10 months will be reserved for the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the composer and the winner of the category will also be organized after the composition of the work in order to allow the artist to achieve the best possible interpretation, and to record the piece in the best conditions.

    The recording of Gorka Hermosa's piece by the winner of the category will be broadcast widely on all social networks during the year following the competition, in order to ensure the best possible promotion of the work and the artist.

    International Composition Contest “Franck Angelis”
    (Solo, Chamber Music, Ensemble, ... No restriction)


    Each candidate must play a work by FRENCH composer Franck Angelis. The jury will be composed of a President of the Jury - Franck Angelis in person (marks coefficients 2) and members of the jury chosen by the composer himself.

    Prize for the winner of the 1st International Contest "Franck Angelis":

    Franck Angelis will compose a piece dedicated to the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the Composer and the winning Artist of the category will be organized before the composition of the work, so that the composer becomes imbued with the personality of the Artist. A period of exclusivity of the work of 10 months will be reserved for the winner of the category. Direct online contacts between the composer and the winner of the category will also be organized after the composition of the work in order to allow the artist to achieve the best possible interpretation, and to record the piece in the best conditions.
